100% Win Record On The Line For Both Teams
Both teams have won both of their first two games in the Premier League this season and come into it in excellent form. Last year, the Gunners were able to get the better of the Seagulls on both occasions, winning home and away. However, last season Brighton had European football to contend with, and I think that played a part in their form in the league at times last season. The season prior to that, they had managed to beat Arsenal at the Emirates 3-0, so they do know what it takes to win in North London.
No Excuses On The Injury Front
Arsenal don’t have any major injury concerns, and the same can be said for Brighton, although there is speculation regarding an injury to their new signing Matt O’Riley, who arrived from Celtic earlier in the week. It’s unlikely that he’ll be featuring in the matchday squad.
When it comes to my thoughts on this game, I think it might be a little bit closer than the betting suggests. Brighton are 23/10 on the double chance, which doesn’t look too bad, but I am happy to let that price go.
The Ghost Of Welbeck
The way I am looking for this game is in the goalscoring market, and I’m looking at Danny Welbeck. The 33-year-old has already been on the scoresheet twice this season, which included a goal against his former club Manchester United last weekend. Since going to Brighton, he has found a new lease of life and he is still proving to be an effective striker. The former England international has an excellent record scoring against his former clubs, and I think he might be able to haunt the Gunners this weekend. At 9/2 to score anytime, I think that represents some fair value in what could be a thrilling game.
Selection: Danny Welbeck To Score Anytime (9/2)
