Flying High
Both teams have had great starts to the season and find themselves towards the top of the League One standings.
Birmingham City have picked up 10 points in their first four games but have played a game less than some of their league rivals. The Blues were the favourites to get promoted this season, and they haven’t disappointed their backers so far.
May The Main Man At St.Andrews
Under new owners, Birmingham City certainly splashed the cash in the transfer window. One of their main signings was last season’s League One Golden Boot winner Alfie May from Charlton Athletic. It hasn’t taken the 31-year-old long to find the goal, as he’s already netted four this season.
Wrexham, on the other hand, currently lead the way in League One and are unbeaten after five games. Much has been made about them after their high-profile owners, but they just seem to keep up the winning momentum.
A Huge Test
Tonight’s game will be The Red Dragons biggest test of the season. The teams haven’t met since 2006, so we’ve got no recent history to go on. One thing we do know is that both teams like to score goals.
Leaky Blues
However, when it comes to the defence, Wrexham have had a better record at the back this season, keeping four clean sheets in the league. Birmingham, on the other hand, have conceded at least one goal in every game, so Wrexham should capitalise on that tonight.
When it comes to my prediction for tonight’s game, I think we will see goals. I’m also edging towards a Wrexham win. Therefore, I am going to recommend Wrexham to win and over 1.5 goals, which is currently 17/4 with Rhino.
Whatever happens, I think we’ll get an entertaining game to watch.
