A North West Clash
Fleetwood Town v Morecambe should be an intriguing game. Both teams come into this match in mixed veins of form, but Morecambe are the side who have the worst start to the season. The Shrimps have had a disappointing start, and find themselves at the bottom of the League Two standings with just one point. That result came in a 3-3 draw against Colchester Town last weekend, where they went down to 10 men. Despite the result Morecambe played well that day, and they could use that as a springboard to kick start their season.
The Highbury Fortress
Fleetwood on the other hand, have accumulated more points than tonight’s rivals and find themselves lurking in mid-table. Last weekend they came out on top against Carlisle as they won 3-2. The Cod Army have had a good record at home this season, and they are yet to concede a goal in the league at the Highbury Stadium.
Fleetwood Can Get Over Graydon
When it comes to their team news, Morecambe are going to be without Luke Hendrie as he’s suspended. Fleetwood also have one or two issues as Robert Graydon is a doubt. The 24-year-old will be a big miss for them as he’s scored four goals in five games for them this season, so they could be a little short in attacking areas. Despite this I think Fleetwood have a stronger squad than Morecambe. The likes of Danny Mayor scored two goals at Carlisle last weekend, so they have players that can step in.
Overall when it comes to my final thoughts on this game I think Fleetwood will come out on top. Therefore I’m going with the Cod Army to win and keep a clean sheet, which is currently 13/8 with Rhino.
