Spain have been the pick of the teams at the Euros, with their free-flowing style and willingness to be brave in possession.
However, they are not afraid to display a more combative style, which they showed in their 2-1 win against Germany where they picked up 7 cards.
For the sake of the tournament, which has been starved of flair and goals, I hope the Spaniards progress to the final.
As many have highlighted, France are in a semi-final and are yet to score a goal from open play in their five matches. They have relied on one penalty and two own goals to get this far, and to say that they have been underwhelming is putting it mildly.
Portugal know that they had the opportunities and should have dispatched France in the last round, but they are on a plane home whilst Deschamps team are 90 minutes from reaching the final.
This is a team who reached the final of the last World Cup and have a knack of finding a result, even when not at their best. I see this happening again here.
Tip: France – ‘Winner of Tie’ [1/1], Under 2.5 goals [8/5], Half-time draw [17/20]
The highly anticipated clash between Spain and France lived up to expectations with a high tempo and technical display from both sides. Spain’s possession-based play allowed them to dominate much of the game, but France’s resilience and clinical finishing in key moments kept them in contention.
