Josephine Gordon: He’s Stepping Into Listed Company Here, But Absolutely Deserves to Take His Chance

Some exciting news! Whitcome Rockstar has been nominated for an ROA award. That’s the Racehorse Owners Association awards for those that don’t know. It’s been really exciting being part of his story and watching his progression this year. He’s in the Outstanding All-Weather horse category. Fingers crossed he can win!  I’m at Lingfield today for one ride and will then have three rides at Kempton on Wednesday before heading to Chelmsford on Thursday. Here are a few thoughts on some of my rides.

Tuesday – Lingfield 14:27
STILETTO

This lad runs for Kieran Burke, having not been seen on the flat for some time. He’s shown some promise tackling the obstacles, without ever winning, so hopefully he can run well now back on the flat and lose that maiden tag.

Wednesday – Kempton 16:40
MISHY’S STAR

Another ride for Kieran Burke. A filly I’ve sat on a few times at home and she’s worked really well there. Her first time on a racetrack obviously brings unknowns, but we’re excited to see her compete.

Wednesday – Kempton 19:10
WHITCOMBE ROCKSTAR

He’s one of my favourite boys and has been brilliant for the Burke team and myself. He’s stepping into listed company here, but absolutely deserves to take his chance. We’d love to get a good draw for a change.

Wednesday – Kempton 20:10
MIDNIGHTATTHEOASIS

Phil McEntee gave the horse a lengthy break and he probably needed the run on his return a couple of weeks ago. He’s never gone right-handed so will see how he handles that.

Thursday – Chelmsford 17:40
EL BUFALO

I’ve had the chance to ride this Dylan Cunha horse a few times at home. He is a nice big horse with a lot of speed. He’s had a bit of time off, so hopefully he comes back fresh for his first go around Chelmsford.
