Henry Brooke: Drop In Grade Can Help Perfect Arch At Perth

It’s still all a little bit quiet on the jumps front this week, but I do have two rides at Perth on Sunday that have chances.

I’ve enjoyed my trips to Scotland this season, having ridden a couple of winners at the track, so it would be nice to come away with another one this weekend.

My Sunday rides at Perth

2.00 – Perfect Arch (Simon West)

He probably didn’t quite stay when he tried 2m7f at Worcester last time out. However, the time before that, he ran a blinder to finish second over 2m4f at Market Rasen, when having his first start for Simon. He’ll be much happier returning to this trip, and he might find it a little bit easier dropping into novice company. If he can rediscover his Market Rasen form, then he would have a good chance of making the frame.

3.15 – Dallas Des Pictons (Dianne Sayer)

This lad is a bit of a character. His form has been a little bit in and out, as he can run a good race and then a bad one. However, I think he didn’t run too badly at Hexham last time out when he finished fifth. He was in contention at two out, and then the rest of the field just got away from him coming up the hill. This race looks like there could be a bit of pace, so I’ll probably ride him forward. Dianne’s horses have been in good form this summer, so it would be great if we could keep it up for her here.

I hope you all have a great weekend, and I’ll catch up with you soon.
