Bangor is a very fair track, and be quite speedy. If you’re not in contention at three out you probably aren’t getting in contention because as you turn down to two out they fairly fly home from there, especially as there’s not much of a run in from the back of the last. You ideally want to be in front jumping the last.

HEROIQUE DE MAULDE
Don’t ask me to pronounce this lad’s name! He went to Bangor the other day and did a nice bit of work. He’s slightly to come on a bit for the run. He looks like he’ll be a strong handicap chaser and we’re looking forward to getting him running for the yard.

LAUTREC DE COUGNY
Another French horse with a funny name that I don’t know how to pronounce! He is a full brother to XXXXXX which has been a really good little horse we’ve had in the yard for a long time. He’s come from France and we’re looking forward to getting his career over here started in this introductory hurdle. He’ll likely be pretty green, as will most of the field in this race. He jumps well at home so hopefully he can make a good showing here.

EAGLES GOLD
A horse than ran really well at Huntingdon last season. I was really surprised how he ran that day as thought he was a weak horse, but he seems to be strengthening up and I think he can go and run a nice race in this division of a competitive novice race.

GENTLEMANBILL
He’s in the second half of the novice hurdle. I fancied him to win at Carlisle and so was slightly disappointed to see him only finish third there. He ran a nice race but just got tired late on I think this track will suit him more so than Carlisle. Nicky Henderson brings a horse with a nice bit of form to this race, but it doesn’t scare me as I hold Gentlemanbill in really high regard.

CARRIG KATE
My last ride of the day. A horse that ran really well at Stratford. She’ll have improved for that run and I think she’ll go close here.
Have a great week everyone!
