Things are starting to ramp back up this week though, and I’m looking forward to the change in weather and in a few weeks we’ll start getting better ground for the spring horses.
I’m up in Ayr early this week and then at Wetherby and Newcastle. I’ve got a few rides for different trainers and hopefully we can get some winners on the board.

FUSAIN
This is a nice old horse for Paddy Neville who’s won with him a couple of times. Unfortunately, the ground might be a little on the soft side for him. However, he’s got the visor on for the first time and that will definitely help his chances. It looks quite a strong race for pace. I’m hopeful he can run a nice race and the ground isn’t too soft.

PURE SIRLOIN
This lad has run a couple of ok races for Sandy Forster but generally hasn’t performed to the level that saw him win a handicap in Ireland. He’s definitely capable of winning but his jumping lets him down. He’s often very sloppy with his jumping and loses ground at each obstacle. The soft ground will be a plus for him and he’ll relish coming off a decent gallop.

AILT AN CHORRAIN
Paddy Neville has given this horse some time off after a poor run at Cheltenham in October. He’s a horse that should run really well here, even with a penalty.

HERBIERS
This lad looks well handicapped on paper for Josh and Olly. He hasn’t been running brilliantly of late. Having said that, the ground should suit him. He’s been showing signs of coming back to his usual self at home and so hopefully he can go well here and get back to winning ways.
