I’m travelling to Haydock today and have some nice chances including my ride in the last for Dianne Sayer. Bertie’s Ballet goes with a great chance and has won at Haydock previously.
The most frustrating horse I ride is Good Work. A grey horse that I just cannot seem to win on. He really does frustrate me and is a very hard horse to win with. I think we’ve finished second with him about nine times since we’ve had him at the yard. Having said that, he will like the soft ground. He led into the straight at Wetherby but made a mistake, which cost him the win.
Another ride I have for Josh and Olly today is L’Air Du Large. A lovely French horse and still only a baby, he should go well and we expect him to be a very nice prospect moving forward.
My other ride on the day is Thirty Bob for Dianne Sayer again. This lad has actually got potential but is still working out what he’s supposed to be doing. He got himself detached at Doncaster the last day and I couldn’t get him to make up the ground. I think he’ll run a lot better tomorrow on soft to heavy ground. He’s a work in progress but will be a nice horse for the future.
