Foxes Firing Blanks
I think the first place to look at is Leicester City, who could be in for a difficult campaign. The Foxes are due a points deduction due to financial fair play; they’ve got a new manager, and they’ve lost some key players like Dewsbury-Hall. Last season they blitzed the Championship, before their form dipped in the last few weeks, and even promotion looked in doubt at one stage. In pre-season, they’ve also been struggling to score goals, so I am not sure if they’re going to get on the scoresheet tonight.
Spurs Have A Spring In Their Step
Tottenham, on the other hand, looks like a club heading in the right direction. Like many neutrals, I am a fan of their manager, Ange Postecoglu, who seems to have changed the culture of the club and posted his own brand of attacking football on the players. Spurs have also invested heavily this summer, which includes marquee signing Dominic Solanke for a mouthwatering £65 million. Going into this game, they can rely all on most of their players and don’t have any major injury concerns.
Spurs To Strike
Spurs got off to a fast start last season, taking 26 points from their first 10 games. Though they might struggle to reach that kind of point tally this time around, I do think they’ll get off to a winning start tonight. Moreover, with Leicester attacking options looking thin, I can see Spurs also keeping a clean sheet.
