4.30 Salisbury – Sea Of Roses (4/1)
As Listed races go, this looks pretty weak, but Sea Of Roses is a cut above the field. She’s been tried in better company this season, and she ran really well to finish third in a Group 3 at Newcastle last month. The four-year-old filly isn’t the most straightforward of horses, as she’s only ever won once, but I think this looks like a good opportunity. Furthermore, the weather forecast suggests there is going to be a bit of rain around Salisbury today, so any ease in conditions won’t be a problem. She is my bet of the day.

7.00 Kempton – City Of York EW (8/1)
City Of York has been threatening to win again. His last two efforts have suggested that he is coming into form. The last time we saw him, he ran a good race to finish fourth at Newmarket behind the likes of Dutch Decoy, who went on to place in the Golden Mile at Glorious Goodwood. Moreover, the time before he finished in the same position again over this course and distance and that form has been franked several times. The all-weather will be fine for him, and if they go a good gallop, then I can see him being involved in the finish.

7.10 Ffos Las – Lhebayeb EW (25/1)
Lhebayeb looks like he’s going to have his conditions at Ffos Las tonight, with the ground described as heavy. Last season he won on similar ground at Windsor, and most of his best form has come with ease in it. The last time we saw him, he made his seasonal return at Chepstow, but I think you can forgive that effort, as he probably needed it, and I’d expect him to strip fitter here. He is 2lb higher than his last winning mark, but I still think he can run a big race.
