Luton Town v Burnley Betting Preview: Expect A Goal Fest At Kenilworth Road

We might be saving the best match to last for the opening round of the Championship first round games between Luton Town and Burnley. Both clubs were relegated from the Premier League last season, and they are both fancied to be in contention to go back up again this season.
Luton v Burnley

Leaky Hatters

Coming into this game, Luton have quite a few injuries, especially at the back, which has seen them leak quite a few goals in pre-season. On the other hand, they’ve also been scoring at the right end of the pitch this summer, so they should cause Burnley problems tonight at Kenilworth Road.

New Look Clarets

Speaking of Burnley, they find themselves with a new manager going into this season with Scott Parker at the helm. He’s done well in the past guiding Bournemouth and Fulham to the Premier League, so the owners will be expecting him to do the same. Though he’s got the pedigree of a promotion manager, I’ve never been totally convinced by him, and he’s never lasted long with both clubs in the Premier League. The jury is definitely still out on him.

All In The Mind

The Clarets also have their fair share of injuries going into this game. They have a few of their key attacking options out, but Lyle Foster will be available for them. Last season Burnley took four points off Luton, so they will have the psychological edge going into tonight’s game.

Goals! Goals! Goals!

The betting has both teams quite close together, and I think this game could go either way. Therefore, I am looking at goals, and plenty of them. Luton averaged 3.61 goals per game last season, and I think the value could be with the over 3.5 goals market, which is currently 21/10 with Rhino.

Whatever happens, hopefully we’ll get an entertaining game to watch at Kenilworth Road tonight.

Selection: Over 3.5 Goal (21/10)
