The Title Race Begins
Many people are seeing Manchester City v Arsenal as an early marker for the title race, so it will be interesting to see what happens.
So far both teams are undefeated in the Premier League, and they both come into this game after 0-0 draws in the Champions League this week.
Leaky Blues
Though they are odds on at 4/5 to win this game, I do think Manchester City could be vulnerable. The Sky Blues have conceded the first goal in the last two Premier League games, against Brentford and Ipswich, so Manchester City will need to be on their guard.
At the other end of the pitch, Manchester City have had no problem. Their main man Erling Haaland has already hit the ground running this season, scoring nine goals in the Premier League this season, so he’s going to be tough to stop.
The Red Wall
Having said that, Arsenal have been very solid at the back, with the Gunners only conceding a goal in the Premier League this season. When it comes to this game, I think Arsenal will have a defensive setup like we saw last season when they drew 0-0 at the Etihad. The North London side are still going to be without captain Martin Odegaard. Therefore, the likes of Jorginho might keep their place, and Declan Rice could play a slightly further forward role in the midfield.
It’s Going To Be Tight
Last season there was only one goal in the two meetings between these two teams, and I can see another cagey game this time around. I wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up being a low-scoring game, maybe 0-0 or 1-0 to either side. Therefore, I’m going to side with there being under 1.5 goals in this game at 21/10.
