Thomas Paull: What A Feeling!

The last week has been incredible since beating Dimitry Solemis at Cage Warriors. The feeling from that night still hasn’t left me.

Overall, I deserved the victory, as I was the better fighter on the night and I proved the doubters wrong. Furthermore, I became the first deaf fighter to take part in Cage Warriors, so it felt damn good when I wore the famous yellow gloves on my hands.

The crowd and the atmosphere at the O2 were unreal; it gave me goosebumps. It was amazing to see so many supporters cheering me on as well as seeing new fans. Of course, I wanted to win for myself, but I also wanted to win for the fans too.

Thankfully, I’ve been able to catch up with many friends and family, as when you’re in fight camp, it can be hard to keep in touch with them as I was solely focused on my training. It can be tough mentally having very little contact with them, but they knew that the fight meant everything to me.

Apart from a gash on my eye, I came out of the fight largely unscathed, and it means that I can now resume training. I am also able to eat what I want, but I am still going to stick to a balanced diet as it helps make my mind, body, and sleep better.

Since winning, it feels like I am finally getting closer to the UFC again, but I just have to remind myself not to get too excited. This is just the beginning, and there are so many more battles ahead of me, so I am going to be taking one fight at a time.

You’ll be seeing me in the yellow gloves very soon, where I can’t wait to get stuck into my next opponent!
