The Eagles
The Eagles are flying high with one of the best records in the NFL this season. They are led by Jalen Hurts, who continues to impress with his dual-threat capabilities. Saquon Barkley continues to be the main weapon for the Eagles after his move from the Giants having scored 8 touchdowns so far this season. The Eagles currently sit at 7-2 for the season having won the last 5 matches. Philadelphia’s defence has been rock-solid, conceding only 6 points last time out against the Dallas Cowboys. The front seven will look to put pressure on Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels. The Eagles’ offense, powered by playmakers like A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, has shown an ability to score quickly and often, however, the Eagles are bothered by injuries in a short preparation week with key players like Smith and Dallas Goedert currently listed as questionable.
The Commanders
The Commanders are aiming for an upset in the biggest game of their season and go into this game 3.5-point underdogs with Rhino.bet. The Commanders currently sit 7-3 for the season and narrowly lost 28-27 last time out to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Quarterback Jayden Daniels, who was drafted second overall in the 2024 NFL draft, has demonstrated potential this season. Who can forget the game winning 52 yard Hail Mary pass against the Chicago Bears. With weapons like Terry McLaurin and Brian Robinson, Washington have the pieces to put up points. Defensively, Washington’s line, led by players like Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne, will be tasked with containing Hurts and forcing him into tough throws. The Commanders’ secondary will also need to play a perfect game against the Eagles’ dangerous receiving corps.
Key matchups to watch include Hurts versus the Commanders’ defensive front, as well as the battle between A.J. Brown and Washington’s secondary. For the Commanders, pulling off a win will require a strong defensive showing and efficient offensive drives to keep pace with the Eagles’ high-powered attack. It should be an intense game between these division rivals.
Prediction
The Commanders have scored 290 points so far this season, averaging nearly 30 points a match. The Eagles sit slightly below that averaging around 25 points per game. When the Eagles defence is on song though, they can keep the opposition threat to a minimum. I expect the Eagles to get the win and move to 8-2 for the season, but the Commanders are a different team this season and could give the Eagles a fright. I think the Washington Commanders to be the 1st Half Winner at 7/4 with Rhino could be the bet of the night. Whatever happens, we should be in for a cracker of a game
1st Half Winner – Washington Commanders @ 7/4
