Points To Prove
Both teams have had mixed results in the early weeks of the season. Sheffield United thrashed Plymouth Argyle 4-0 in their first game, only to then lose by the same scoreline against Sunderland last weekend.
Whites Need A Repsonse
Leeds haven’t managed to win a competitive game so far this season. They’ve drawn both their games in the Championship, and were knocked out in the first round of the EFL Cup by Middlesbrough. The Mighty Whites have high expectations to go up to the Premier League this season, so heads might begin to roll if they don’t pick up three points here.
Furthermore, they need to find their shooting boots. I think the departure of Rutter to Brighton is a big blow for them, and they need to freshen up their attacking options in the transfer window.
Hillsborough A Hard Place To Go
This will be a tough game for Leeds, despite Sheffield Wednesday’s recent defeat. On the other hand, Leeds fans should be optimistic, as they were the last team to win at Hillsborough. Maybe they could be Wednesday’s bogey team?
I see this being a close match, with Leeds having more possession and possibly becoming frustrated by not their converting chances. I think Sheffield Wednesday will also cause their defence problems, and I can see them getting a positive result. Therefore, I’m going to side with the double chance, which looks like a fair price of EVS at the time of writing.
