Bring on Cage Warriors!
Finally, I get to fight in one of Europe’s top MMA promotions, Cage Warriors.
It’s more than fair to say that it’s been quite the rollercoaster to get to this point. Over the last two years, I’ve become a double champion on Golden Ticket Fighting Promotions as well as being invited to take part on the TV show Dana White’s Contender Series. Unfortunately, I didn’t get very far on the show, and it really knocked my confidence and self-esteem.
My Asian Experience
It was after my appearance on the show that I knew I had to try something different, and that’s why I made the decision to go to Asia. On my travels, I spent some time in Phuket, Thailand and that is where I got my confidence back.
While I was out there, I was able to fight at the Bangla Boxing Stadium, which had an incredible atmosphere, and I managed to pick up three championships before eventually returning to my beloved South East London. If it wasn’t for that experience, I don’t think I would have been in a good place mentally to pursue taking part in Cage Warriors.
Size isn’t everything
The opponent I’ll be taking on at Cage Warriors is Dimitry Solemis, from France. Dimitry is a tall guy, being over 6ft. However, I’m not afraid, as most of the fighters I face are taller than me. He’s just a speed bump in the way as I head towards a featherweight title.
My preparation on the whole has been going well at my fight camp, despite the odd unfortunate hiccup. The team that has been helping me at the fight camp is Be Superhuman. They have been really supportive and have got my body and mental wellbeing ready as I prepare for the fight.
It’s a real honour to be invited to take part at Cage Warriors, as many great fighters have started their careers at this event, and I can’t wait for it to start. The fight takes place on Saturday, March 30th, at the O2 in London, so if you want some tickets, check out my Instagram page.
You’ll all be hearing from me again very soon!
