Business As Usual For The Champions
So far Manchester City have had a relatively comfortable start to the season, beating Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge and breezing past Ipswich Town 4-1 last weekend. However, I think their trip to West Ham will be an interesting test for them.
Hammers Starting To Gel
The Hammers have started the season brightly, and they were good value for their win against Crystal Palace last Saturday. They also were able to get past a tricky draw against AFC Bournemouth in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night, so they come into this game with some confidence under their belt.
Bowen Looking For Another Bullseye
One player who is finding his stride early is Jarrod Bowen. Last season, he had his best ever season, scoring 16 goals in the Premier League, so he looks like he picked up from where he left off, scoring a goal in each of his last two games for the East London side. Since Declan Rice departed West Ham, it’s fair to say that Bowen has become their talisman. I can see him adding another goal to his tally on Saturday.
The Sky Blues Do Things In Threes
Another angle into this game is to look at over markets for Manchester City goals. The Sky Blues have a good record against West Ham and have scored at least three goals against them in their last three meetings. It’s currently 6/5 for Manchester City to do the same again, which I can see happening.
Hopefully we’ll get an entertaining match with plenty of goals on Saturday night.
