A Repeat Of 2023
The first one is Carlos Alcaraz vs. Daniil Medvedev, which is a repeat of last year’s semi-final. Alcaraz won that match in straight sets and looked pretty comfortable throughout. I’ve been going against Alcaraz this year at Wimbledon, as I wasn’t sure about his form coming into it, especially after his shock defeat at Queens. This year, he’s had a few long matches that have gone all the way at SW19, but they appear to have not left a mark on him.
Mercurial Medvedev
Medvedev over the last 12 months has been getting to the latter stages of Grand Slams, so it’s not a surprise to see him here again. However, he had a tough match against Jannik Sinner after it went to five sets. I just think he might feel the effects of that match here, and I expect Alcaraz to triumph. I’m going for a 3-1 win over Alcaraz at 5/2.
Don’t Write Off Djokovic
Novak Djokovic has shown his class once again to get to the semi-final despite being 37 years old. He’s in pretty good shape this tournament, despite coming into it with an injury concern. His opponent is Lorenzo Musetti, who has never made it this far in a Grand Slam before.
A Five-Set Thriller
On the other hand, he has met Djokovic on a few occasions and managed to beat him twice, and even the matches he lost weren’t decided by straight sets. I think the young Italian will give Djokovic a proper game, and I could see this one going all the way. However, I just think the experience of Djokovic will prevail, and I see him winning 3-2, which is priced up with Rhino at 11/2.
