Villa Strong Favourites
When it comes to Wycombe Wanderers v Aston Villa, the Midlands side are the warm favourites to win the game at 2/7. However, despite things going well for Villa, it might be a closer game than people think.
Wycombe Winning Streak
Wycombe come into this game in good form, and they are unbeaten in their last six matches in all competitions. In the second round of the Carabao Cup, they managed to get the better of Swansea City 1-0, so they are capable of beating teams bigger than themselves.
Changes For Villa
Unai Emery will almost certainly make changes as this will be Villa’s third game in the week. Therefore, it will be interesting to see what kind of team he puts out.
A View To A Goal
One player that will be looking to start is Colombian Jhon Duran. Duran has already made an impact in the Premier League this season, scoring four goals from off the bench. I can see him wanting to stake a claim for a place in the starting eleven. He’s currently 10/3 to score the first goal tonight, which doesn’t represent bad value.
Goals Come In Threes
Another trend that I am looking at for tonight’s game is goals. In the last three games Aston Villa have played, they’ve scored at least three goals. I wouldn’t be surprised if he put a few past Wycombe tonight, as the Chairboys have already conceded 10 goals in League One this season. Villa are 11/8 to score over 2.5 goals with Rhino tonight.
Overall, I do think Wycombe will give the Aston Villa defence something to think about tonight. Despite this, I believe Villa’s quality will shine through and that they will get the job done comfortably and progress to the next round.
