Portugal looked for all the world like they would book a third win in their group games, only to throw in a surprising performance against Georgia. Nevertheless, they have shown at times the heights they are capable of hitting, and I feel it will be the dynamic, attacking version of this side that we see tonight in Frankfurt.
Unlike Portugal, the Slovenians have not been beaten this tournament and are the draw specialists. They successfully kept England out in their last group game and, but for their manager being booked, would have had the exact same record as Denmark in Group C. Whilst up to now Slovenia have been resolute in defence, I fancy Portugal will bring a different level of threat and will find their way to unlock a rearguard that England couldn’t manage to.
