Germany v Denmark: Who will emerge victorious?

The hosts were excellent in their first two games but weren’t at the same level in their final group match against Switzerland. However, given that they’d already qualified for the knockout stages, we can perhaps disregard that performance as an indicator in how they will play tonight.

There is a feel-good factor surrounding this German team, and a growing sense of belief that after being dormant for several years the German side is ready to roar again.

Denmark have drawn all three of their games so far. Group C had several extremely poor matches and provided the least entertainment in the competition. The Danes were good against England, but they were far from that against Serbia, as both sides struggled in a 0-0 draw. If Denmark can reproduce the level of performance that they had against England, when Hojbjerg and Erkisen dominated midfield, then there is a chance of surprise tonight. However, I expect the Germans will be too strong and, once they score and the game opens, Denmark will not have the attacking power to hurt the Germans.

Tip: Germany -1.25 Asian handicap [odds 6/4], Musiala anytime goal scorer [odds 12/5]
